George Papachristodoulou
Hi I'm George! Apart from having one the longest surnames in the history of humanity, I'm a life coach and a psychotherapist. My background is in the electrical industry running my own business in North Kent, UK. As a psychotherapist the modalities I am trained in are psychodynamic, transactional analysis, integrative and person centered.
I'm passionate in raising awareness and promote positive mental health for men, especially tradesmen, religious trauma and trauma in general, fatherhood and healthy human relationships. As a moderator in the Walk for The Missing community I actively promote positive mental health.
Growing up in Greece experiencing childhood adversity that inevitably left a mark in my personality and psyche as a young adult. Through self-reliance, perseverance and determination, I was able to relocate from my small home town to Thessaloniki and then to the UK to work for The Salvation Army. Since arriving in the UK, I have built a successful and very profitable electrical business from scratch - in an area where literally, no more than three people were aware of my existence when he arrived!
I know from personal experience, the transformative power of coaching and counseling. Working with a coach and therapist, I have developed and grown to become the successful and confident person he is today. Those are the skills I use every day to help my clients to overcome their own challenges and achieve their goals.
I have a rich history in volunteering with The Salvation Army, the Medway Night Shelter, a drop in centre in Thessaloniki, Greece for people experiencing homelessness.
Right now I am working on some very exciting projects.
First, being an electrician by trade I know very well the massive need of good mental health within the construction industry especially for males. For this reason I'm creating content specifically for tradesmen where we will be offering mental health and self help advice and also exploring ways on how we can make the industry a less stressful place.
Second, another of my passions is exploring the positive impact in mental health of extreme metal music and the horror genre (there are a lot, trust me!) even within meditation!
I spend my spare time with his son, reading, playing video games and different DIY projects.
